from the top of the mighty ridge, everything looked so small. Even with the keenest of gazes, the tiger could only make out vague little shapes of things as he stared over the edge. It wasn't the largest ridge he'd ever seen but he still had to marvel at the general insignificance of things. Tilting his head to one side, clear green gaze watched a large log or tree or something float down the river below, bumping against rocks and such as it floated along. That was one heck of a river down there... Lifting his head to crack his neck, the tiger shifted his position a bit, letting his paws hand over the edge lazily. This was a nice afternoon. The breeze was cool but the sun was warm. they mingled and mixed to create the perfect atmosphere...

Soft paws of the tigress approached form the other side. Her deep green pools staring over the edge with interest. She hadn't noticed the other tiger there, but found a rock and perched herself upon it, and laid back, basking lazily in the sun. She sighed softly, emitted as a quiet purr, and laid comfortably in the sun, looking over the edge.

Laying his head down softly, the big cat gave a soft sigh, watching a puff of dusty dirt wisp up toward the sky with his breath. He was growing slightly bored by this point, his tail swishing from one side to another with little interest. He had expected to find far more creatures about the landscape, but instead he had only seen the typical birds and squirrels. Boring... Rolling his green optics once, the feline let loose a slightly agitated growl.

Auds pricked at his soft growls and sighs. She looked up to see the tiger, twitching his tail boredly(sp?) as he laid with his paws over the edge. Watching him for a second she smiled slightly. So, I see your bored, hmm? She said, deep green optics watching, and waiting for an answer. The tigress had expected a little more as well, but didn't make a big deal out of it by sighing and growling. She had just made herself comfortable and enjoyed the day.

The tiger grumbled quietly to himself, his gaze shifting downward when the tigress' voice reached his ears. He was minorly curious as to why he hadn't noticed her before but he didn't stress about it...
What gave you the first clue?
He rolled his optics a bit, simply to prove his point. Though it may have seemed like a rude and arrogant statement, it wasn't said as one. He was a kind shifter and there simply wasn't an arrogant bone, muscle or other peice of annonymus sinew within his body...

she smirked slightly as he said it and rolled his eyes. he wouldn't seem of one to be rude and arrogant, but she gave it his chance and looked at him.
So, why come here if you know there's nothing to do? Seems a bit pointless, hmm?
she asked wonderingly. All that was here was a huge hole... if you know your the type who gets bored when there's nothing around then that is pointless.

Lifting his eyebrows as he looked at her, the tiger snorted again, another puff of dust whisping up in the breeze.
Well, I had been exploring before but I grew tired so here I lay resting in the sun. But now, I don't know what to do...
Again, he snorted. He was slightly enjoying the little dance the dust would make when he breathed out...
I'm certainly not going back to school. Nothing there but careless idiots...

Careless idiots?
she asked, sitting up on the rock and stretching a bit.
What about your grades? Don't you care about those? There has to be something you enjoy at school...
she said still looking at him. there had to be at least one class he cared about....

Rasing his eyebrows again as he watched her sit up, the tiger snorted again but this one wasn't for his amusement.
Care? About school? Hack no... I just try to get good grades so I can get a good job when I get the hell out of here...
That wasn't really true but it wasn't really a lie either. He really tried to get good grades because it was the only thing he was good at but he didn't want to bother this stranger with his problems...

she nod slightly. and stretched again. it was really boring here. but she hadn't come for any reason, so she wasn't annoyed about it.
What about friends here? Do you have any?
she asked wonderingly. he had to have friends. or maybe not... but she wondered anyway. she looked around.

Snorting once more, this time for his amusment, the tiger looked up in thought. Friends? Now that he was thinking about it, he couldn't really say he did. Sure, he'd met some people but it was unlikely he would call most of them friends. Maybe one...
One, I guess...
Raising his eyebrows, he tried to think of anymore possibilities. Dylan wasn't exactly what he'd call a friend but they were definately on good terms with one another. Matt was the same... Then there was the werewolf from the other day... Well, she was the one... That other werewolf though, the tall one with brown hair, was anything but a friend...
Yeah... Just one...

she smiled slightly. at least he had one, he should at least care a little bit.... she smiled again and looked at him.
Well, by the time classes start, you'd better care about your position in band...
she said, looking at him. then stood and stretched slightly. she looked around, before she went to leave.

The tiger's rounded ears perked suddenly as his mind processed what she had said. His position in band? How the heck did she know he played an instrument? Lifting his head abruptly, he tilted it to the side, lifting one eyebrow suspiciously.
Wait a sec, how'd you know I was in band?

A slight smiles crossed the tigresses face as she turned to look at him. seeing the suspicion in his eyes, she held her smile.
I guess it's just the perks of being the band teacher here.
she said with a smile. she knew the names and the instruments played of everyone in her classes.

The tiger simply continued his baffled blinking. She was the band teacher? She knew what his name was? Was she psychic? Could she read his mind? What could she see? Shaking his head mindlessly to clear himself of such bothersime thoughts, the big cat softly laid his head back down without another sound, snorting once again to watch the dust blow about in the air...
