Shaking the hand of his fellow shifter, Duka's smile widened into an exasperated chuckle. So he was a first year too... Thank goodness...
"That's great. I dunno what i would've done if I got stuck with a Second Year...."
Lifting a clawed hand to the back of his head strangely, the tiger gave the back of his head a good scrittching, still feeling a bit... well, stupid. He was so terrible at conversing with others and making friends....

Dylan smiled slightly. He couldn't imagine being here with a second year, he'd feel unwelcome, or just awkward. He looked around for a minute. He wasn't one to converse at all, he normally kept to himself, away in his room, reading or playing a game, but he thought it was good to know somebody, maybe they were in a few classes.

When the panther didn't respond, Duka felt a little awkward. He really wasn't very good at talking with others but he wasn't one to give up too quickly either. Shuffling his feet strangely, the tiger tried to come up with something to say. That was another problem he had with talking with others. He could never really think of what to say. But, being at school, there was always something to talk about... even with an almost complete stranger.
"So... what classes do you have?"

He looked up at his question and thought for a moment. thought of all his classes. He didn't have as many as others, but still, he'd been trying to memorize them so he didn't have to carry a schedule. 'I have... Algebra, Chemistry, American History... he paused for a moment, going over his class list in his head. All the classes got on his nerves. he looked up again. umm, I have Latin, Racing, Potions, Creative Writing, and I think it's Typing 101.' he said, pretty sure he had them all. what do you have?

Extending one arm to leane against the wall of the hallway, the tiger shifter listened to his companion with interest. Maybe they'd have some classes together. That'd be pretty cool. He really hated being in a class where he knew no one and had nobody to talk to...
" I have..."
Pausing to take a peice of paper out of the pocket of his sweatpants, the tiger began to read of his classes. having only gotten them this morning, he could remember almost none of them. So he had a bad memory, so sue him...
"...Geometry, Typing 101, Poetry, Chemistry, Latin, Global History, Painting, Advanced Control, Creature Studies, Mythical Enviornment.. Plus, Band, Crosscountry, and Tennis..."
He was pretty proud of some of the last ones. Crosscountry was a hard sport and it turned out that Duka was a natural...

The panther shifter shifted slightly as he listened to his list of classes. He had many more then Dylan, but he herd some similar classes. he smiled at band on his list. he used to be in band. played the sax for a few years, but it got boring and he had to loose his title of 'band geek'. 'Sounds like we have a few classes together. Latin, and Typing 101.' he said, glad he had at least a few classes with someone he knew.

Chuckling a bit, the tiger was a little disappointed that he only had two classes in common with the panther but two was enough. Smiling still, he crossed his arms over his chest, nodding approvingly.
"Good. I hate being in classes by myself, always sitting in the back all alone... Gets boring..."

he smirked slightly and nod. Yes, I agree. I always sit in the back, weather with a friend or not, mostly I'm not. he said, never usually having friends or knowing people. I hate being in the front of anything really, except a camera. he smiled. he loved being with the camera. Even in his worst mood, he could smile for the camera.

Laughing a little, the tiger nodded as well. Well, there were some things the two had in common.... Some, not all...
"Yeah, I know what you mean. The front makes it seem like the teacher's watching me. plus, makes it very hard to sneak in some homwork or copy someone..."
Though not usually one to do such things, Duka thought it was a funny joke. In fact, he was usually the one being copied off of... for a price though. He wasn't stupid and, when he needed some more cash, that was a good way to get it...
"But I dunno about the camera thing. I'll give a smile for like pictures and stuff and I sometimes do fun things with friends but like video cameras... eh...I just dunno. I don't like the idea of others watching me, you know?"

he nod slightly understanding. he would always be the one copying homework. luckily, he always knew someone who never thought to charge. if she had charged him, he would have paid her more then he could count... Well, i never said I liked people watching me... just like pictures. weather their painted drawn of snapped, i like them, videos, not so much.

"Very much agreed."
The tiger laughed a little again, feeling a little more relaxed talking with Dylan. Scratching idly at an unseen scar on his chest, Duka nodded again, a strange grin showing one of his pointed fangs.
"Pictures are a lot of fun... not sure why exactly but they're hilarious to look at sometimes."

he smiled. when Dylan smiled, his large fangs shown, as a panther and as a human. many people had called him a freak when his fangs shown as a human, but he didn't care, he always thought it was cool... different from everyone else. 'Yes, pictures are fun too look at.' he said, thinking of one he had. 'I was at a friend's party and we were having a great time, someone pulled out a camera and started snapping pictures. I was hanging from the balcony when they snapped it.'

The tiger laughed openly, imagining the very clean-cut shifter hanging out over a balcony and pointing at something below with a very surprised look on his face. It was a funny image...
"I bet that had been a nice picture..."
Chuckling softly to himself this time, green gaze shifted to the ground as a very familiar form began to rub against his legs. Songa was back...
"Almost made me wish I had some friends to take pictures of..."

The boy ran his hand through his bangs for the ten thousandth time today. He was obessing; as usual. But then again, today was his first day back at school and he didn't want to make a bad impression. He pulled his bag up the steps and walked down the hall, looking for his room. Not much seemed to be different than last year. There were small changes like as he passed the rooms the beds seemed to look different and not so lumpy like the ones last year, and there seemed to be a different color of paint on the walls.
Turning to look over his shoulder, he saw Cassie padding behind him. She looked into each room as they passed seeing if any others were out and wanted to play. She carried a rope chew toy in her mouth, that was just about as big as she was. The pup stopped to investigate a floor plant, sniffing it's dusty leaves and causing her to sneeze. Her little head shook back and forth and her ears flapped against the side of her head, Come on Cassie! The boy called to his companion. She perked up and loped after him, almost tripping over a paw. Once she caught up to him, he picked her up and carried her in his free arm.
He caught sight of two boys talking, and he went up to them. Being the soical butterfly that he was, he smiled at them and gave a small nod. Hello.

The tiger shifter glanced up when he heard the stranger call to... his dog it seemed. Letting his long tail twitch curiously, green gaze watched him approach, returning the boy's nod with one of his own. He was a pretty respectful creature and never let politeness go unnoticed. Grinning in a manner that showed one fang, the tiger eyed the dog strangely, glancing behind the boy toward his cats who were very calmly sitting on various perches about the room. Another dog... This could be fun...
"So, who are you? Figure we're gonna live together right? Might as well become friends right off the bat..."
